Cherry Vanilla Brunch Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • Crisco? Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1 (32 oz.) container vanilla flavored almond milk
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked steel cut oats
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (17.25 oz.) jar Smucker’s? Natural Tart Cherry Fruit Spread, or your favorite flavor
  • 1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds*

Directions

  1. COAT slow cooker liner with no-stick cooking spray.
  2. PLACE almond milk, water, oats, salt and cinnamon in slow cooker. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on HIGH 2 hours 15 minutes or LOW 4 hours.
  3. STIR jar of fruit spread. Spoon into oatmeal. Top with almonds. Turn slow cooker to warm or turn off.
  4. To toast almonds: Place 1/4 cup sliced almonds in dry nonstick skillet. Cook over medium heat, shaking pan until nuts are lightly browned. Remove from pan immediately to avoid over-browning.
